The Diversity Sync'd engineering team is experimenting with AI to help support workers write shift notes and incident reports.

Firstly let's start with what is AI, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the process of making a computer system that can perform tasks that ordinarily require human intelligence, such as visual perception, natural language understanding, and decision-making. AI research deals with the question of how to create computers that are capable of intelligent behaviour.

In practical terms, AI applications can be deployed in a number of ways, including:

1. Machine learning: This is a method of teaching computers to learn from data, without being explicitly programmed.

2. Neural networks: These are networks of simple processing units, which can learn to perform tasks by example.

3. Robotics: This involves the use of robots to carry out tasks that would otherwise be difficult or impossible for humans to do.

4. Predictive analytics: This is a method of using artificial intelligence to make predictions about future events, trends, and behaviours.

5. Natural language processing: This is the ability of computers to understand human language and respond in a way that is natural for humans.

It may sound confusing but don't worry, the engineering team handle the confusing side of it then we simply use display some suggestions when a shift note or incident report is written, we will never use AI to write a complete shift note or incident report.

How good is the AI? Well the above definition was written by our AI, and we will ask it a few more questions including what is a support worker shift note.

A support worker shift note is a record of the support worker's observations and activities during a shift. The note should include the time the shift started and ended, the type of support provided, and any significant events that occurred during the shift. The support worker should also record any changes in the client's condition or mood, and any concerns they have about the client's welfare.

Please note, we have not yet implemented this feature as we are continuing to fine-tune its ability before we release it to our users.
